How to Apply for a New Connection

You can apply for a new MEPCO electricity connection either online through the ENC portal or by visiting your local MEPCO sub-division office. The process involves document submission, site survey, fee payment, and meter installation.

Prepare Required Documents

Gather your CNIC, proof of ownership/occupancy (registry, allotment letter, or rent agreement), CNIC copies of two witnesses, and an affidavit confirming no existing connection and no dues at the premises.

Submit Application

Apply online through the ENC (Electricity New Connection) portal or visit your nearest MEPCO sub-division office to collect and submit the Application and Power Supply Contract form.

Site Survey

After receiving your application, MEPCO staff will conduct a site survey to verify technical feasibility and determine the appropriate connection specifications.

Receive Demand Notice

Once approved, MEPCO will issue a Demand Notice detailing the fees — meter cost, wiring charges, and security deposit.

Pay the Demand Notice

Pay the Demand Notice amount only at the designated bank branch specified on the notice. Do not pay to individuals or through personal accounts.

Meter Installation

Submit the paid bank receipt to the MEPCO office. The utility will proceed with meter installation and final activation of your connection.

Required Documents

You will need the following documents for a new connection application:

  • CNIC (National ID Card): Original and attested copy of the applicant's CNIC.
  • Proof of Ownership/Occupancy: Property registry, allotment letter, lease agreement, or rent agreement.
  • Witness CNICs: Attested copies of CNICs from two witnesses.
  • Affidavit: A sworn statement affirming that there is no existing electricity connection at the premises and no outstanding dues.
  • Passport-size Photos: Recent photographs of the applicant (quantity may vary by office).

Online Application (ENC Portal)

The Electricity New Connection (ENC) portal allows you to submit your application online and track its progress:

Visit the ENC Portal ↗

Through the portal, you can fill out the application form, upload required documents, and receive a tracking ID to monitor the status of your application.

⚠️ Scam Warning

Never pay money to individuals claiming to be MEPCO employees for processing your new connection. Official fees are only paid through the banking channel specified on your demand notice. If someone asks for personal payments via JazzCash, Easypaisa, or bank transfer, it is likely a scam. Report such incidents to MEPCO at 0800-63726.

Tracking Your Application

After submitting your application, you will receive a tracking ID or reference number. Use this to check the status of your application through:

  • The ENC Portal ↗ (for online applications)
  • Your local MEPCO sub-division office (for in-person applications)
  • The MEPCO helpline at 0800-63726
